mmmm molasses spice cookies

3 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

preheat oven 350
melt butter then add sugar and molasses to butter. Beat in eggs and mix well. Sift all dry ingredients together and then add the wet to dry. Bake for 10 minutes. If the batter is too runny, I usually put the whole bowl in frigde or stick it outside if it's cold enough. I like to let these cool on tray for a few minutes before attempting to move them. These cookies are seriously yummy. They puff up a bit but are not too bready and maintain a really great softness. A friend served them at a kid's Halloween party and I stalked her untill she gave up the recipe! Thanks Pam! This is really the perfect autumn cookie.
